After taking a hiatus from performing to create some incredibly cute babies... Michelle will return to the stage in April as the lead, Mateo, in Swazzle's musical puppet show, DREAM CARVER.
Based on the children’s book of the same name, Dream Carver is a bilingual musical that shows how imagination can become a compelling force for change. Mateo is a boy growing up in Oaxaca, Mexico who after a colorful dream, is impelled to bring wooden toys to life in his own way. Through Mateo’s experience, Dream Carver encourages young audiences to think creatively, try new things, and follow their dreams.
Michelle just finished mounting AVENUE Q at Cal State University Northridge and AVENUE Q: SCHOOL EDITION at Calabasas High School. It's safe to say, she got bit by the teaching bug! Having taught the kids how to puppeteer, mounted all the puppetography, choreographed the whole show (CHS) as well as helped out with some vocal coaching (CHS), she fell in love with putting up this show and looks forward to teaching more kids and adults alike how to puppeteer for the stage. Next stop, Tucson, Arizona to put up AVENUE Q at Michelle's alma mater, University of Arizona!
